Thanks to everyone who made it down yesterday, I think we can all agree that it was a wonderful success. The next one will be in February sometime- keep an eye on this website and bluebirdsaresonatural.wordpress.com for further details.

There are a few reviews trickling in, which we’ll post as and when they come. If you’d like to submit a review of the night, or have any comments, please email roughgempresents@gmail.com

Swopshop

Rough Gem is a new and vibrant collective, based in Dublin. Made up of bloggers, artists and musicians, it aims to bring fun and fancy to the Dublin arts scene. Its first event will be a clothes swop-shop on Thursday the 20th of November in The Loft (Powerscourt Townhouse Centre), and will run from 5pm to 8pm. Tickets cost €5, and can be reserved by email: roughgempresents@gmail.com.

The event is open to young and old alike, and both men and women will be catered for equally. Grannies, grandsons, uncles and cousins- come one, come all.  The swop shop will be based on barter and exchange. Visitors bring no more than five items of clothing. Upon handing in the clothing, they receive tokens, and begin to barter. A full summary of the terms of trading is available on the Rough Gem Presents blog. (roughgempresents.wordpress.com)

In addition to the swop shop, there will be a pop-up vintage shop, selling choice vintage pieces by select traders. In keeping with the feel of the event, each vintage piece will cost no more than ten euro. Also present will be a portable photo booth, complete with props and make-up. All the while, our resident DJs will be playing music to dance, sing, and eat cake to.

Even though the event finishes at 8pm, there will be an official after-party at ‘Soundcheck’ in Spy on South William St. Doors are free in until midnight, and cocktails are two-for-one. It’s the perfect opportunity to test run your brand-new outfit!

If you are interested in sponsoring this event, or featuring it in a publication, please contact any of the below named, or email roughgempresents@gmail.com.
